Adjustments to variable coding, child-value replacement rules
We've had various email threads but I thought it would be good to collect all the issues in one place (here) so we don't lose track of them.
Here's what I am aware of right now:
Negative values that shouldn't be NA
757: Time employed in main current job - As per data coding 100290, has -10 for "Less than a year"; this presumably should be recoded as -10 -> 0.5, as a guess for "less than 1 year". (NA replacement is correctly set up,
datacodings_navalues.tsv: 100290 -1,-3).
Child Value Replacement rule modifications/questions
- [ ] 757: Time employed in main current job's data coding 100290 has
variables_parentvalues.tsv: 757 v6142 == 1 0but not sure it makes sense...
v6142 == 1is "In paid employment or self-employed", so if Time Employed is missing does it make sense to call it zero? Or should we just leave it missing.
(More to come, transcribed from Jessie's email on 6th Feb.)
