conda installed python2.7 returns different platform.linux_distribution string
This is in a WSL ubuntu 18.04 environment
expected behaviour
import platform
platform.linux_distribution()
('ubuntu', '18.04', 'whatever-name-here')
actual behaviour
import platform
platform.linux_distribution()
('debian', 'buster/sid', '')
Looks like ubuntu default python patches platform.linx_distribution to return some different values, whereas the conda installed python2.7 does not have this enhancement.
something to keep in mind, but not sure we need to act on it just yet.
